Edgewood Historical Society Hosts Dog Show
The Edgewood Historical Society will host its annual dog show during the Heritage Festival and Bazaar November 8, 2008. The entry fee is $2.00 and registration begins at 1:30 p.m. in the Village by the Bandstand. The will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m.
The Heritage Dog Show is open to everyone with two age groups available - youth (2 to 12 years of age) and adults (13 and over). There is one entry per person, per class.
The dogs will be placed into three different classes: small (under 10 inches), medium (10 - 20 inches) and large (over 20 inches).
Dogs will be judged on grooming, talent, personality and behavior. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. First, second and thrid place awards will be given in each class of both divisions. Best of Show winners will be awarded trophies in both youth and adult divisions.
The following rules apply:
- All dogs must be on a leash.
- All dogs are required to be in good health and must be vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper and hepatitis (if applicable for that breed). Dogs 12 weeks and over must provide a current rabies voucher from a veterinarian before being allowed to participate.
- Aggressive dogs will be asked to leave.
Entry forms may be picked up at East Texas Veterinary Supply in Edgewood or at The First National Bank of Edgewood. Forms will be available the day of the show at the registration table, OR after scrolling down and viewing the pictures of some of last years entrants - you can click and download a form from our website.
